Reporters needed to:
Create vocabulary activities for section 1

Summarize section 1. Create summary in Microsoft WORD. Then, copy and paste at wordle.net and attach this visual to final newspaper.
Summarize section 2. Follow the same steps as for section one and summarize all the sections of the chapter.

As you summarize, check your facts by reading related articles on the internet to see if our social studies book is correct. You may add delicious details that you find on the internet that may not be in our textbook. However, you must have three sites verifying the delightful new fact that you uncovered.

Check and recheck facts as you summarize and review overall chapter.

Opinion Section: you get to write what you think about the information shared in the chapter, how you feel about the people and the events that took place, and present “What if…?” statements about how history would be different if things would have happened differently.

Write about Biography and create corner to put on display. Include person’s years of living, what they are historically famous for and how what they did changed the world.

Evaluate the sample of literature and share your review in the paper.

Evaluate the primary source assigned and share your review in the paper.

(13 reporters on staff each chapter. Those students without an assignment must partner up with a reporter and be an assistant and help research.)

1 point: attempting to answer question (does not leave a blank)

3 points: the student correctly and partially answers the question and
the person scoring the question can tell what the question is from the student's writing

4 points: the student correctly and completely answers the question and
the person scoring the question can tell what the question is from the student's writing

5 points: the student correctly and completely answers the question and
the person scoring the question can tell what the question is from the student's writing,
including details that show analysis or synthesis of the material studied and/or includes an evaluation or opinion of the ideas we studied ;)
